3.         Linda Cameron, Chairperson’s Annual Report-:

I feel it has been very varied and eventful since I started in this Chair-as a Community Council we seem to have covered a wide range of island problems from our local elections to Progressive Care Centre, housing, wind farms, parking charges, mobile banks, planning problems, CalMac, Marine and Land National park and just in case you’d all forgotten ROADS ! and the threatening added weight restrictions all over the island, to mention a few.

I would like to see some Community Councillors doing more letter writing or e-mails on behalf of the people who approach them and then come back to Community Council for added support.  Also like to remind you when you sign off as Community Councillor, it is for your area and not as Mull Community Council.

With so many different things happening on the island, which affects everyone living and working here, I would also like to see all the different groups which have been set up on Mull to keep the Community Council informed or send in minutes from meetings, so as to save time on duplication work and other off-island people’s time and also, so we can call on your group for back up information which would help Community Council in their work.

Hopefully I’d like to see the Community Council achieve more than it has done this year, this also includes our sub-groups, Renewable Energy Forum, Tobermory Parking and Keep Mull Moving.  As individuals we’ll do what we can as a team to help work for Mull and its residents.

I’d like to thank Tony Proud for sorting out and looking after the Community Council marquee, also work done for web site and our thanks to Alan Parker for making this happen.  Thanks also to Tony for being treasurer for Keep Mull Moving.

Thank you also to our Secretary who does a difficult job trying to decipher the relevant points and put in proper manner.  I would like to thank Linda D for all the cups of tea when trying to do letters and e-mails-even I know what a mouse is now!  Also thanks for volunteer support to Keep Mull Moving.

Finally, and seriously, during some difficult decisions that had to be made during the past year, I’d like to thank you (Community Councillors) who phoned or spoke to me and gave me support outside Community Council time.  Thank you

4.         Tony Proud, Treasurer, Finance Report:

Copy of the accounts, audited by Debra Lyndley, circulated.  It was noted that the marquee is a continuing expense.

Closing Balances:         Current Account:            £1,983.62.  Investment Account:             £4,914.86

Tony agreed to forward a copy of the audited accounts to Ken MacDonald, Argyll and Bute Council.  Audited accounts proposed by Adrian Fitness, seconded by Steve Barlow

5.         Linda Dawson, Minute/Correspondence Secretary:

Another busy year.  Round and About and the Oban Times have agreed to print a report of the minutes.  Thanks to Am Muileach for continued support in printing minutes.  Personal thanks to Chair for help and support over the past year.

6.         Summary:

A good year, agreed to keep up the good work achieved so far, especially with the Keep Mull Moving campaign and the proposed car parking charges, Tobermory.

The Annual General Meeting was concluded at this point.
